Course Description

Dr. Deepti Lele is a trainer and consultant in Cyber Law. She is a Human Resource Management professional and has done a doctorate in "quality of work-life of police employees", MPM in Labour Laws, and LLB. She is also an author of noted research papers.

Dr. Deepti is very closely associated with many reputed schools, colleges, and organizations as a Passionate professor and trainer for the last 10 years. She has also given consultation related to cyber safety and security to the corporates from various business sectors. This inspired her to think about a training program for today's Netizens and help India to reduce cyberbullying and cyber fraud.

Need of the training “Responsible Netizens”:

Dr. Deepti Lele felt the need for this training because of the increasing number of users on the internet. In the “New Normal” of the pandemic for the last 2 years, the internet has become the most necessary for all.

From 1 year old to 80+ years old, the internet is an inevitable need of today’s digital world. With the term development, when a physical location is not the barrier with the evolution of technology, the internet is the default prerequisite. Statistics say that by the end of 2021, the number of internet users in India will reach 80 crores.

On 1’st July 2015, the Digital India project was begun by prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi. The project has many visions from taking mobile technology across villages to paying online bills and taxes.

The digit lock application is part of this project. We can protect our documents in the form of pdf or jpeg by using an Aadhar card on a server space created by the government. This information justifies that the number of internet users is going to increase day by day.

These days students are also taking online school, online classes, and other online platforms. Parents are working from home. We are also connected to the internet for entertainment, financial transactions, finding out some information, and so on.

We are using different e-wallets and mobiles apps in our everyday life. We are connected to our friends and family members on various social media platforms and social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Our lifestyle is incomplete without the internet. Kids are learning the use of the internet at a tender age. We are getting a lot of ease at our fingertips. At this age, we all are netizens in the world of the internet.

But the convenience of the internet comes at the risk of becoming a cyber victim if we do not handle the internet carefully and do not remain vigilant about possible internet frauds.

Takeaways of the training :

The training focuses on cyber ethics and cyber hygiene which if followed ensures safety and security norms for any internet user. The training also tells about the safe and responsible use of information and communication technologies, how to respect other fellow netizens, and the different purposes of the internet.

Respect fellow netizens :

● Ensuring the originality of news before we share it on social media platforms. Don't spread fake news.

● We must share true and helpful information

● We must inform the genuine and necessary information for the welfare of the society

● We must be kind towards other netizens

We should keep in mind the above points and stay away from cybercrimes and cyberbullying.

Netizen Meaning: Netizen is a compound word that combines the English words net and citizen, as in "citizen of the net". Someone who is actively engaged in online communities or the Internet in general.
